Born on April 24, 1958, the current Dean, Prof. Andrew Friday
Uduigwomen, is a native of Eme-Ora, OwanWest Local
Government Area, Edo State. Prof. Uduigwomen graduated from the Department
Of Philosophy, University of Calabar, in 1984 with a First Class (Hons.) Degree in philosophy. This was followed by a Master of Arts Degree in Philosophy of Science (1989), and a Ph.D degree in Philosophy of Law (1992). He was employed by the University of Calabar as a Graduate Assistant in October, 1985 and rose through the ranks to become a Professor in October, 2005. he has published over eighty works in forms of Books, chapters in books and local and foreign journals. He belongs to some professional bodies and has attended a number of conferences, workshops and seminars. He is the Editor of SOPHIA; An African Journal of Philosophy and Public Affairs. He is a reputable motivational speaker and a Gospel Minister. He is married to Ekanem and they are blessed with four children.
Research Interest/Focus:
Researches in the Faculty are largely geared toward the promotion of creative thinking,
innovativeness, practical performance, national ideals, aspirations and survival.
