Method of Application for research grants
Universities receive from National Universities Commission a designated amount, part of capital (annual) for Research Activities. National Universities Commission also provides funds for Teaching and Research Equipment.
Applications for funding are made through completion of specially designed forms issued by the secretariat of Research Grants. Such applications which come in ten copies would normally be considered by the committee to determine viability of the research and level of funding required. Such Applicants would have completed any outstanding research (where applicable) before such staff would be considered for another allocation of funds for research purpose. Such discretion as may be required depends on the Committee who consider each case on its own merit.
