Professor James Epoke, a native of Mboti, Igbo Imabana in Abi Local Government Area of Cross Rivers State, Nigeria, was born on 21st April 1954. Professor Epoke is married to Lady Ebase James Epoke and they are blessed with three Children.
Professor Epoke, a devout Catholic, obtained the West African Examination Council (WAEC) in 1971 with Division One. He thereafter, proceeded to theUniversity of Nigeria , Nsukka where he obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Microbiology with Second Class Upper in 1978. In 1983, Professor Epoke graduated from the University of London with a Master of Science degree (M.Sc) in Medical Microbiology and later crowned his academic pursuit with aDoctor of Philosophy degree (Ph.D) in Medical Microbiology from the University of Lagos in 1990.
An accomplished medical scientist, prolific writer and teacher, Professor Epoke is a Member of several Professional Associations namely: the Nigerian Society forMedical Microbiology, Parasitology Association of Nigeria, Institute of Medical Laboratory Science, and the American Society for Microbiology.
Professor Epoke enjoys Cricket, Football and Arts Appreciation as extra curricular activities.
